Country Gourmet at the Market has been open for over 40 years at the West Shore Farmer's Market.

Micah Solomon purchased the stand in July 2022. Growing up he has always enjoyed food and the way flavor profiles can come together. At a young age, he was told of a delicatessen that his Great Aunt Lee owned in Harrisburg, PA. Through the years he has always had the dream of owning his own place while following in his aunt's footsteps. After many years of working in customer service and sales positions, he figured it was time to start chasing his dream. He quit his job in customer service and went back to school at HACC to pursue a Culinary Arts Associate's Degree. 

There were many struggles during that time to fight through and yet the dream and his family kept him moving forward. During this time he worked at a pizza restaurant and learned a lot from the years of experience the manager there could provide. He also held positions at a couple of other local establishments including The Hotel Hershey and Hilton Harrisburg location. 

At the beginning of 2022, he was contacted by the previous owner of Country Gourmet to see if he had any interest in purchasing the establishment. Micah took ownership of the stand on July 1st, 2022. He is happy with where his dreams have led him and plans on keeping the establishment running for many years to come providing quality gourmet food to the patrons of the West Shore Farmer's Market.
